About
Japan's very first whisky, released in 1929 as "Suntory Shirofuda" (White Label). It holds an almost sacred place in Japanese whisky history as the bottle that started it all. The taste is simple by modern standards, but that's the point: it was designed as Japan's everyday whisky, optimized for highballs long before the trend went global. Still available everywhere in Japan at convenience store prices.
Tasting Notes
Light and sharp. Clean malt with a hint of citrus peel and a faint floral note.
Crisp, clean, and straightforward. Light malt sweetness with a soft grain base. Simple but balanced, with a mild honeyed quality.
Short and crisp. Clean fade with a very slight warmth.
What People Are Saying

Average rating around 79/100 on Whiskybase. Appreciated more for its historical significance than its flavor profile. First domestic Japanese whisky, released 1929.

How to Enjoy
Meant for highballs. The clean, light profile was literally designed for mixing with soda water. A piece of living Japanese whisky history in your glass.
