A budget blended whisky marketed as Japanese whisky but NOT JSLMA compliant. Tenjaku uses imported Scotch malt whisky blended with domestic grain spirit in Japan. While legally labeled as Japanese whisky under old regulations, it does not meet the 2024 JSLMA standards requiring all production steps to occur in Japan. Widely available and affordable, but buyers should understand what they are getting.
